Abstract
Abstract
Decision-making is a fundamental competence that significantly influences the intellectual, moral, social, educational, and professional development of young people. Contemporary youth encounter increasingly complex choices concerning education, careers, family relationships, social interaction, leadership, ethical conduct, and rapidly changing communication environments. In this context, the Prophetic biography ﷺ offers a comprehensive educational framework for developing responsible, balanced, consultative, and value-oriented decision-making. This study examines the principles and practical methods employed by Prophet Muhammad ﷺ in developing decision-making competence among young Companions. Using descriptive, analytical, and applied approaches, the research focuses on consultation, knowledge-based judgment, gradual delegation of responsibility, foresight, emotional regulation, moral accountability, and practical experience. Particular attention is given to the examples of Usamah ibn Zayd, Mu‘adh ibn Jabal, Mus‘ab ibn ’Umayr, and ’Abd Allah ibn ’Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them). The study also explores the contemporary application of the Prophetic model in families, educational institutions, youth organisations, and leadership development. It concludes that the Prophetic approach integrates intellectual maturity, ethical responsibility, contextual awareness, consultation, and practical participation, thereby providing an effective framework for strengthening decision-making competence among contemporary youth.
