Abstract
Dua (supplication) is a fundamental act of worship in Islam, representing direct communication between a believer and Allah Almighty. It serves as a spiritual tool that transcends time and place, allowing Muslims to seek guidance, forgiveness, and transformation at any moment. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) emphasized the centrality of dua by declaring it “the essence of worship” and affirming its power to alter destiny. This research explores the profound role of Prophetic duas in shaping human character and facilitating moral and spiritual evolution. Through an analytical examination of selected authentic supplications taught by the Prophet (PBUH), this study demonstrates how these prayers function as comprehensive instruments for inner purification, behavioral reform, and spiritual elevation. The research particularly focuses on cases where the Prophet’s prayers led to remarkable transformations in individuals, such as ‘Umar ibn al-Khaṭṭāb, Abū Hurayrah’s mother, Ṭufayl ibn ‘Amr al-Dawsī, and a young man struggling with temptation. These historical examples illustrate the tangible impact of Prophetic supplications on human psychology and conduct. The findings indicate that sincere engagement with Prophetic duas, combined with consistent effort, opens doors to immense spiritual blessings and facilitates the development of noble character traits. This study contributes to the understanding of how spiritual practices can be integrated with character development, offering practical insights for contemporary moral education.
